YPA members are asked to submit images for the New York Photography Diary exhibition which will be held in London this fall. Their open call has been extended to YPA’s community, members and subscribers and we encourage you to make your submission now to include the best YPA has to offer!
The exhibition is on the theme of “Borders” and will be shown in East London between September 29 and November 29, 2016 at Carmel by the Green Gallery.
The official call can be found on their website here. The theme is explained:
We are seeking contributions that explore the tensions and consequences caused by the contemporary realignment of traditional borders. Inspiration might be found in separatist tendencies in the US, immigration, and the post-Brexit landscape, to more conceptual interpretations of this theme, such as the way new digital imaging technologies have helped expand images outside of their traditional rectangular frames.
The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2016 at Midnight EST.
Will Fenstermaker, Editor & Curator of New York Photography Diary, adds, “We’re excited to see the rich breadth of responses to the topic, and to have this opportunity to provide a platform on which local artists can exhibit their work on the international stage.”
The call is open to anyone aged 18 and over, and who is a practicing photographer or lens-based artist, ideally with connections to the New York or tri-state area. Work on this theme from other locations may be considered. Complete submissions guidelines are here.
