Our world continues to grow smaller every day as technological advancements are increasingly allowing people to easily connect to others. Most particularly through various social mediums such as Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
However, despite the ever growing connections–is this really a method of socializing? Let’s consider in a real life scenario where someone is interacting with others with the use of an electronic device. Most likely they would stereotypically be labelled as antisocial or lonely.
Playing on that topic and replicating the characteristics of social media into real life scenarios, “Social Illusion” explores the idea of someone interacting with various doppelgangers for a taste of social enjoyment and interaction that is offered by various social mediums.
