Since finishing YPA’s Mentoring Program in 2014, I’ve been slowly finding my own voice in commercial photography. I’m really glad that YPA brought the best advisers, Steve Giralt and Andrew Hetherinton, to us. They taught me so much that helped me to see a clearer picture of my career path.
While I work for beauty brands as their graphic designer and in-house photographer, I also take collaboration projects with different creative people in order to gain more experiences and build the network.
These images are a mini fun photo passion project for Boxed Water Is Better. Boxed Water is about a sustainable, clean, and environmentally-friendly lifestyle. I created a series of minimal, graphical, simple photos to convey the concept of their creative and earth-friendly packaging solution. I also used the color palettes of white, nude, and green to focus on the relationship between human and the environment. The work has won PDN Faces Photo Contest 2014.
The exhibition “Love Potion – Ten Rooms, Three Hearts” by Seoul Museum is inspired by the Italian opera “L’elisir d’amore.” The concept is based on the process of how we fall in love:
The nine artists use their exclusive spaces to showcase their artworks. My work falls into the theme “Crisis.” Through biographical photography, I express the moment of enlightenment that a successful relationship starts with letting go of one’s obsession over the other person. The exhibition started on September 22, 2017 and ends on March 4, 2018.
