Houston Center for Photography’s 2017 Fellowship

Houston Center for Photography’s 2017 Fellowship

YPA is excited to share some information from the Exhibitions and Website Coordinator at the Houston Center for Photography about their 2017 photography fellowships. The 2017 call for entries is now open and their deadline for submissions has been extended to October 31, 2016.

Two fellowship recipients will be awarded $3,000 each, a solo exhibition at HCP in the summer of 2017, and a spread in spot magazine. One Houston-based artist (residing within a 100-mile radius of Houston including the Beaumont, Galveston and College Station areas) will receive the Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship supported by the Carol Crow Foundation, and another artist from anywhere in the world, outside of the Houston area, will receive the HCP Fellowship.

This year’s Fellowships are juried by Andy Adams, Creator/Director of FlakPhoto, a web-based digital arts lab that celebrates photography in all its forms. Adams is a pioneer in the field of online arts exhibition and has collaborated with the RISD Museum of Art, the Australian Centre for Photography, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and numerous other organizations. Find him on Instagram @FlakPhoto.

You will need to become a member to enter (as low as $35 for students), and have the following information available: an artist statement; a resume, c/v, or bio; specific information for each work submitted.
